National Employee Wellness Month is this month, and we want to celebrate all the amazing healthcare workers out there! They work tirelessly to make sure that the public has stayed safe and healthy throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Prioritizing employee wellness is the key to having happy, healthy, and hard-working employees. We want to share four ways to promote employee wellness in your organization!
-
Provide Financial Resources
Even if your employees were not financially affected by the pandemic, it is still important to provide financial resources and support for them. Money is always a financial stressor for Americans, so employers can serve as a vital source to provide information to their employees to create budgets, savings accounts, navigating benefits, etc.
-
Teach Mindfulness
An employee’s emotional well-being is another important aspect of their lives. Being emotionally resilient allows employees to calmly navigate through challenging times. A way employers can promote emotional resilience is to participate in mindfulness activities. Being mindful means being aware of a situation in the present and it does not take much to achieve.
-
Host Social Events
Hosting social events is a fantastic way for employees to engage with one another and allow them to get to know their coworkers and feel like they are a part of something bigger than themselves. There are many activities that can promote social well-being, including trivia, happy hour, escape rooms, lunches, etc.
-
Create a Wellness Challenge
Physical well-being is especially important because exercise is a wonderful way to relieve stress and anxiety. Implementing a wellness challenge at your organization could be a good activity to promote exercise. Some fun ideas are walking meetings, 100 minutes (about 1 and a half hours) of sunshine, top chef challenge, playing on a sports team, etc.
Whether your employees are working remotely or in the office, all these tasks can be implemented in your organization. Creating employee wellness is detrimental to the success of your organization and the health of your employees. Feel free to contact us or visit our website with any questions, and most importantly Happy Employee Wellness Month!
