NARA maintains professional working relationships with several organizations that are critical to the providing educational opportunities, latest industry news and business services to our members. We work with several associations, including:

NARA has long been dedicated to amplifying the voices of patients and rehabilitation providers in policy and legislative conversations. The association collaborates with a few  key coalitions focused on ensuring access to critical rehabilitation services. As part of our Spring Conferences, we host informative sessions and provide an opportunity for attendees to engage directly with Congressional representatives on Capitol Hill, advocating for the needs of the rehabilitation industry.

Therapy Association Coalition

This coalition includes the professional therapy associations: APTA, AOTA and ASHA; as well as key trade associations: NARA, AHCA/NCAL, ADVION, APTQI, and AMRPA. Together the professional and trade associations work to create a collaborative effort of ensuring the concerns of rehabilitation providers serving patients in all settings are heard on Capitol Hill and at CMS.

Coalition to Preserve Rehabilitation

The Coalition to Preserve Rehabilitation (CPR) is a coalition of national consumer, clinician and membership organizations with the goal of preserving access to rehabilitation services. CPR advocates for policies that ensure access to rehabilitative care so that individuals with disabilities, injuries or chronic conditions may regain and/or maintain their maximum level of independent function.

Independence Through Enhancement of Medicare and Medicaid Coalition

The Independence through the Enhancement of Medicare and Medicaid (ITEM) Coalition is devoted to raising awareness and building support for policies that will enhance access to assistive devices, technologies, and related services for people with disabilities and chronic conditions. The Coalition is consumer-led and includes a diverse set of disability organizations, aging organizations, consumer groups, voluntary health associations, and non-profit provider associations.
